Every week we bring you a new first time challenge! It’s our way to inspire and motive you to try something new. We also want to bring the #365FirstsChallenge community together so be sure to use the hashtag if you post about your first time on social media and feel free to tag us!
This week it’s a #BeautyFirsts. Taking care of yourself aesthetically can boost your mood and can be a fun activity to do — whether it’s by yourself or with friends.
The most common and DIY-friendly hacks are face masks (not to be confused with face coverings for the pandemic). You can also create hair and lip masks for maximum moisturization. Though you can find multiple recipes online for your specific needs, one easy face mask from Cosmopolitan suggests mixing Greek yogurt, honey, and oatmeal, a healthy mix that helps soften skin.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure that the ingredients will not be harmful to your skin, such as lemon juice. Do your research!
This week, try something new with your makeup — or try makeup, if you usually don’t wear any. Here are just a few tips:
To highlight your eyes, use white eyeliner on your lower lid, right next to the waterline.
Try those colors on your eyeshadow palette that you never use: the crazier, the better.
If you wear false eyelashes, cut them in half and glue only the outer portion to the edge of your eye for a more natural look.
And finally, don’t be afraid of making mistakes. The only way to find out what you like the best is by trying different looks!
A New Hairdo
The internet, more specifically YouTube is full of videos to help you learn a new updo hairstyle, way to braid your hair or use a curling iron. If you’re really brave… you can even learn how to cut and color your hair. Or someone else’s hair. Quarantine should give you plenty of time to figure out if you really want those bangs or not.
What About Your Nails?
And of course, how could we forget about nails? Painting your nails can be a work of art, both pretty and relaxing. Don’t be intimidated by patterns or designs that look hard to recreate. You can learn a lot from watching videos on Youtube or draw inspiration from Instagram bloggers.
You know you deserve a beauty first!! Make sure to show us your new looks with the community by using the #365FirstsChallenge hashtag and tagging us in your post!
